Since Mark is the only reader (I believe). If he wasn’t before, he is now from my lack of updating. Of course changing domain names 3 times doesn’t help either.
I am much more amusing on Facebook, given the limit in characters I can post at one time. Which is nice but took some time to get used to.
Connor has been in vision therapy for 10 weeks now. It is training his brain how to use both eyes together, which is a task. Therapy has taught me just how wrong his vision has been and with it, the hope is he will be able to see like the rest of us. His eye works, but his brain doesn’t know how to use it with the other. When I run the exercises with him I can actually see his eye stop working correctly. An real eye opener for me (no pun intended). He hates it, but does it because he does understand that it is helping him. He can also see improvements already but he has a long way to go. Read this article »
I made/ordered this from Shutterfly. I had a $30 credit so I figured I’d use it. The book was $60 without the credit! Yikes. So now she will have a baby book! I have a smaller book of our trip to Boston last year and it’s very nice. We even wrote a story to go with the photos. I wasn’t that creative this time.
Chelsea got the call two nights ago from AMDA. She’s in! She was worried because her accompanist had started her on the wrong key. She thought for sure she wouldn’t get in. The day of she thought she had recovered even being in the wrong key, but as the weeks past she started to doubt herself.
They offered her a scholarship, but it’s not near what the other schools are offering her. I have emailed asking if there was anything else she could do to get more grant/scholarship money. The other two schools that have accepted her are giving her academic scholarships and talent scholarship. AMDA is only giving a talent scholarship. We need more money! Los Angeles is expensive, plus, I need the money to fly her or me back and forth.
This is what I wanted for her. To get accepted into a great school and to go any distance to get the education. However, when we found out she was excepted I started to panic. Los Angeles!? What was I thinking. I’m still happy with our decision and less panicked now that I’ve had my sleepless panic night. Still concerned she will be so far – if something were to happen she’d have to wait a while before I could get there. Unlike Austin, who landed in the hospital 2-3 times the last 2-3 years. I was able to drive and be there within an hour. I think she’s had all the parts removed that would cause that though. No more appendix or tonsils. Hopefully she will be healthier than Austin had been.
